Request your own file. Never anyone else’s without a signature.

The Lifetime Record: Every File About Me, Requested and Owned

A person should be able to hold every record ever written about them — medical, legal, financial, educational, employment, digital — read it, correct what is wrong, and carry it forward. Most people never see their own file until it is used against them. So the standard here is the opposite: pull all of it, on the record, in daylight, and publish the parts that belong to the public conversation. This is the most comprehensive background check ever run on a person, and the person running it is me, on myself.

Read this first. This is general information about records law, not legal advice, and the exact fees and clocks vary by state, county and provider. One thing holds everywhere: these are your own records. Nothing on this page is a way to obtain someone else’s file.

Own file only

Every request on this page is signed by the person the records describe. Records about another adult require their own signed authorization; records about a non-consenting party come only through subpoena or court order in the case where they matter.

Free copies are a right, not a favor

HIPAA caps what a provider may charge for your own chart. Consumer reporting agencies owe a free annual file disclosure. Federal agencies answer FOIA; state and county bodies answer state records law. Ask by name and the price argument disappears.

Everything gets dated and indexed

Each request gets a send date, a due date, and a response slot. Silence is documented and escalated on schedule, so a non-answer becomes evidence instead of a dead end.

Corrections travel

A record fixed in one system has to be pushed downstream to every system that copied it. The correction is not finished until the copies match.

Publish what is yours

A transparent résumé means the hard chapters are on the page in your own words, dated and factual, before anyone else gets to characterize them.

Every record, bucket by bucket

Each bucket names who holds the records, the exact instrument that compels or entitles a copy, and the realistic clock. Requests go out in parallel, not in sequence.

01

Identity & vital records

2–6 weeks
Who holds it
State and county vital records, Social Security Administration, passport agency
Request instrument
Certified copy request with photo ID + signed application
  • Certified long-form birth certificate
  • Social Security number verification (never the number itself in any file we hold)
  • Marriage, separation and divorce judgments
  • Name-change orders, if any
  • Passport record and travel history entries

Note. We hold the certificate, not the SSN. Identifiers are supplied by you directly to the agency on the form.

02

Lifetime medical records

30 days, one 30-day extension permitted
Who holds it
Every hospital, clinic, primary care, specialist, dentist, urgent care, EMS and pharmacy
Request instrument
HIPAA right-of-access request under 45 CFR 164.524, signed by you
  • Complete designated record set: charts, notes, labs, imaging (with the images themselves), medication history
  • Emergency department and ambulance run reports
  • Surgical and anesthesia records
  • Pharmacy dispensing history from each chain
  • Billing and itemized statements for the same period
  • Accounting of disclosures — who else received your chart

Note. Ask for electronic copies in a usable format; that keeps the fee near zero and the file searchable.

03

Mental health & substance use treatment

30 days
Who holds it
Treatment programs, counselors, detox and rehab facilities, OASAS-licensed providers
Request instrument
HIPAA request plus a 42 CFR Part 2 authorization for federally assisted SUD programs
  • Intake and discharge summaries, treatment plans, progress notes
  • Toxicology and screening results
  • Completion certificates and program compliance letters
  • Any report sent to a court, probation office or agency

Note. Part 2 records need their own authorization form; a plain HIPAA form is routinely refused for SUD programs.

04

Courts, prosecutors, police and corrections

5 business days to acknowledge under NY FOIL; production varies
Who holds it
County and city clerks, district attorneys, police agencies, sheriff, corrections, probation
Request instrument
Clerk certified-copy request + state Freedom of Information Law request + discovery demand in open matters
  • Certified docket sheets and every filed paper in every matter, open and closed
  • Transcripts of every appearance (order them; they are not automatic)
  • Police reports, incident reports, body-camera and dash-camera footage, 911 audio and CAD logs
  • Booking, custody and facility records including medical care while in custody
  • Probation and supervision files, monitoring device records and vendor logs
  • Orders of protection and every modification

Note. Preservation letters go out the same day as the request, so footage is not overwritten on a retention schedule.

05

Family, child welfare and support files

Days to weeks; court path follows the motion calendar
Who holds it
Family court, child support enforcement, child protective services, schools
Request instrument
Party request as a parent of record; court application where an order restricts access
  • Support Collection Unit payment and arrears ledgers
  • Every support order, modification and objection decision
  • CPS reports and dispositions concerning you, and amendment requests for unfounded reports
  • Children’s school and medical records available to a parent of record
  • Attorney-for-the-child and evaluator reports filed in the record
06

Financial, tax and credit

Days for transcripts; 30 days for consumer reports and disputes
Who holds it
IRS, state tax, banks, card issuers, lenders, the three credit bureaus
Request instrument
IRS Form 4506-T / online transcripts, bank records request, FCRA file disclosure
  • IRS wage-and-income and account transcripts for every year
  • Social Security earnings statement (the definitive no-income proof)
  • Full credit file from all three bureaus plus scores and inquiry history
  • Bank and card statements, loan files, collection notices and judgments
  • Benefit award and denial letters

Note. Wage-and-income transcripts plus the SSA earnings statement are exactly what answers an imputed-income finding.

07

Specialty consumer files (the invisible ones)

15 days after identity verification, typically
Who holds it
Background-check vendors, tenant and employment screeners, insurance and medical-data bureaus, check and banking databases
Request instrument
FCRA § 609 file disclosure request — free once every 12 months from each
  • Background screening vendor files used by employers and landlords
  • Tenant screening and rental history file
  • Insurance loss-history and medical-information bureau files
  • Banking and check-writing database entries
  • Employment verification database records

Note. This is where wrong data does the quiet damage — a denied apartment, a pulled job offer, a rate hike. Almost nobody requests these. Request all of them.

08

Employment & professional

2–6 weeks
Who holds it
Every former employer, staffing agency, licensing boards, unemployment and workers’ comp agencies
Request instrument
Personnel file request (state right where it exists) + agency records request
  • Complete personnel file: reviews, discipline, pay history, separation documents
  • Payroll and W-2/1099 history
  • Workers’ compensation and disability claim files
  • Unemployment insurance determinations
  • Licenses, certifications, training records and any complaint history

FERPA request for your own education records
  • Full cumulative file, transcripts, IEP or 504 documentation
  • Discipline and attendance records
  • Standardized testing and evaluation reports
  • Financial aid file
10

  • Border-crossing and travel history records
  • Any agency file mentioning you, requested by name under the Privacy Act
11

Who holds it
County clerk, assessor, tax office, landlords, utilities, code enforcement
Request instrument
Clerk copy request + records request + direct account request
  • Recorded deeds, mortgages, liens and title history
  • Assessment and property tax history and hardship correspondence
  • Leases, ledgers and eviction filings
  • Utility account history and shutoff notices
  • Code enforcement and inspection records
12

  • Carrier call and message detail records for every line you hold
  • Full account exports: mail, photos, location history, search and watch history, device logs
  • Login and security event history
  • Cloud storage inventory

Note. Your own accounts and your own lines only. Everyone else’s communications come by preservation letter and then subpoena.

Request instrument
Records request + direct provider request
  • Dog licenses, rabies certificates and ownership documentation
  • Veterinary records for every animal
  • Insurance policies and claim files
  • Memberships, certifications and volunteer service records

The order it actually runs in

Free and instant first, preservation second, everything else in parallel with a dated tracker row per request.

  1. 1

Send the free and fast ones today

IRS transcripts, SSA earnings statement, three credit files, DMV abstract, platform data exports. These are self-service or near-instant and they anchor the financial and driving picture.

Output: Baseline financial + driving + digital record in hand

  2. 2

    Fire every preservation letter

Before requesting footage, logs or communications, tell each holder in writing to preserve. Preservation is cheap, immediate, and stops a retention schedule from erasing the truth.

Output: Dated preservation notices to every agency, provider and carrier

  3. 3

HIPAA to every provider, lifetime scope

One signed request per provider, electronic format, full designated record set plus accounting of disclosures. Build the provider list from memory, insurance claim history and pharmacy records — each one names the next.

Output: Complete medical file, provider by provider

  4. 4

Courts, police and corrections in parallel

Clerk certified copies, transcripts ordered and paid, FOIL requests for reports and footage, discovery demands in every open matter. One tracker row per request with a due date.

Output: Complete legal record with a documented response log

  5. 5

    The invisible files

FCRA file disclosures from every specialty consumer reporting agency, then a written dispute on anything inaccurate, incomplete or unverifiable.

Output: Screening files pulled, errors disputed in writing

  6. 6

    Index, cross-check, correct

Everything lands in one dated index. Contradictions between agencies are the findings: two official records that disagree is the fact that moves a case. Corrections go out with the receipt attached.

Output: One master index + a correction packet per contradiction

  7. 7

    Publish the profile

The parts that belong to the public record go onto the transparent résumé in plain language, dated, in your own words — the wins, the gaps, the chapters. Nobody gets to introduce you but you.

Output: A public profile that is already ahead of any check anyone runs

The profile that comes out of it

Bulked up, verifiable, and ahead of any check

The point of pulling everything is not defense. It is that the fullest, most honest profile in the room belongs to the person it describes — and it is already published before anyone thinks to look.

Who I am, stated first

Founder, owner and inventor of the platform, a father in an active reunification fight, and the person doing this without a dollar in his pocket. Stated up front so nothing reads as a discovery.

The chapters, dated and factual

Each hard period gets a date range, what happened, what was mine to own, what the record says, and what changed after. No spin, no anonymity, no missing years.

Care work counts as work

Caregiving, recovery work, court work and building this platform are listed as work, with hours and outcomes, beside conventional employment.

Receipts attached

Certifications, completion letters, filings, licenses and outcomes linked next to the claim they support. A verifiable profile beats a flattering one.

Correction log in public

When something on the profile turns out wrong, the fix is dated and visible rather than quietly edited. That log is the credibility.

The invitation

The profile ends the way the work does: an open door, and a hand out to everybody else building alongside — we win together or it was never a win.

One request, no device needed

Apple data recovery, step by step

Apple will hand over a full copy of everything it holds about you — iCloud files, photos, Watch health and activity history, message metadata, device and purchase records. It is one request, it needs no working device, and it is free. Start it today and let it arrive while everything else is moving.

  1. 1

Open the privacy portal and sign in

Go to privacy.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account. This is Apple’s own data and privacy site — no app, no device, no cable.

    • Use any browser on any computer or phone.
    • You will be asked for a two-factor code sent to a trusted device or phone number.
    • If that fails, skip to the locked-out section below and come back here after.
  2. 2

Choose "Request a copy of your data"

Pick the export option rather than correction or deletion. Then check every single category offered — do not filter it down.

    • Select the largest available file size (for example 25 GB parts) so the download comes in fewer pieces.
    • Apple gives an estimated completion date on screen. Screenshot it.
    • Typical wait is one to seven days; large iCloud Photo libraries take longer.
  3. 3

Download every part within 14 days

Apple emails a link when the export is ready and the link expires roughly two weeks later. Download all parts to a computer, not to a phone.

    • Files arrive as ZIP archives split into numbered parts. You need all of them.
    • Keep the original ZIPs even after unzipping — they are the clean copy.
    • Then upload them to the evidence vault so they are indexed and timestamped.
  4. 4

Pull old iPhone and Watch backups separately

The privacy export does not include full device backups. Those live in iCloud and restore onto a phone.

    • On any iPhone: Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Backups.
    • An old backup can be restored onto a new or borrowed iPhone during setup.
    • Apple Watch history restores with the paired phone — Watch data lives in the iPhone Health app, not on the Watch.
    • Backups can be deleted after 180 days of device inactivity, which is why the privacy export goes first.
  5. 5

Export Health and Activity as a readable file

Once a phone is signed in, the Health app exports your whole history — steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts, ECG — as a dated XML file that reads as medical evidence.

    • Health app → profile photo → Export All Health Data.
    • This is the file that supports medical timelines, injury dates and activity patterns.
    • Send it into the medical bucket of the lifetime record pull.
  6. 6

File it into the record system

Nothing counts until it is indexed. Every Apple file gets a dated row alongside the medical, court and financial pulls.

    • Photos with original capture dates become the dated photo log.
    • Message and call metadata becomes the communications timeline.
    • Purchase and subscription history becomes financial support material.

File checklist — check every box

On the request screen, select all of these. Anything left unchecked is not in the export and needs a second request and a second wait.

  • iCloud Drive files and documents

Everything stored in Drive, including app folders.

  • iCloud Photos and videos

Originals with capture dates and location metadata.

  • Health and Activity (Apple Watch)

Steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts, ECG history.

  • Messages and iMessage metadata

Timestamps and participants; content depends on backup state.

  • Mail and iCloud Mail data

If you ever used an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address.

  • Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes

    Full sync history across devices.

  • Device and account information

Every device ever signed in, serial numbers, sign-in history.

  • Apple Media Services

App Store, iTunes, Music, TV, Books purchases and subscriptions.

  • Game Center, Maps, Safari, Wallet

Bookmarks, saved locations, pass and card records.

  • Apple Care and support history

    Repairs, replacements, support case notes.

  • Sign in with Apple usage

Every third-party service tied to the Apple Account.

  • Apple Pay / Apple Cash records

Transaction history where applicable — pairs with the financial bucket.

If you are locked out

Pick the line that matches your situation. Recovery runs on a clock, so file it before anything else on the list.

Forgot the password but you still have the trusted number

Go to iforgot.apple.com, enter the Apple Account email or phone number, and reset with the code sent to your trusted device or phone. This takes minutes.

No access to the trusted device or number

Same page, choose Start Account Recovery. Apple verifies you over several days and then restores access automatically. Start it now — the clock only runs once it is filed.

You never set up two-factor or the email is dead

Call Apple Support at 1-800-275-2273. Have the serial number of any Apple device you own and a purchase receipt ready; those two items move the conversation faster than anything else.

The device is locked to someone else’s Apple Account

Activation Lock can only be removed by the original account holder or by Apple with proof of purchase. Do not buy a bypass service; gather the receipt and go through Apple.

The account may have been accessed by someone else

After regaining access, review Settings → your name → Devices and remove anything unfamiliar, change the password, and rotate trusted numbers. Then request the data export so the sign-in history is captured on the record.

  • Only your own Apple Account. Nothing here is a route into anyone else’s device or iCloud.
  • No credential sharing. DBATR never asks for and never stores an Apple password or two-factor code.
  • No bypass tools. Activation Lock and account recovery go through Apple, never through a paid unlocker.

Hard lines that never move
