Intimate partner violence

Where this started: physical harm, coercive control, financial control, isolation, monitoring, threats about the kids. The expedited exit standard was written here — same-day exclusive occupancy, one advocate, men counted, care offered to everyone in the home.

Family violence, all of it

Most harm inside a home is not partner-to-partner. It is a parent and a child, an adult child and an aging parent, sibling to sibling, a caregiver and a disabled adult, a household and the one member everyone has decided is the problem. These cases fall between agencies — child welfare says it is not their mandate, adult protective says the person has capacity, DV programs say there is no intimate relationship — and the family gets handed a phone number.

  • No wrong door: one intake covers child, elder, sibling, parent, caregiver and chosen-family harm. We never say "that is a different agency."
  • Child harm handled without erasing the whole family — the whole-family doctrine holds: every child keeps both parents and their extended family unless a judge finds a specific danger.
  • Elder and disabled-adult abuse gets the same-day standard: financial exploitation frozen, care continued, the person kept in their own home wherever safe.
  • Sibling and adolescent-to-parent violence named out loud instead of called "a phase" — treatment and respite for the whole household, not a criminal record for a 15-year-old.
  • Kin caregivers — grandparents, aunts, uncles, family friends raising kids — get the same money, records and standing as any other placement.
  • Care offered to everyone under the roof, including the person who caused harm. Removal protects safety; it is never a substitute for their treatment.
  • Kids are never used as evidence carriers. No child is interviewed repeatedly to build a case.
Ring 3Street, school, workplace, institutional, state, armed conflict

Violence as a whole 💎

Widen it all the way. Community and gun violence, school and workplace violence, violence inside jails, hospitals, group homes and care facilities, custodial and state violence, trafficking, and armed conflict. Different uniforms, same physics: power without accountability, and a person who cannot leave.

  • Prevention funded like infrastructure — housing, treatment, jobs, mentoring and violence-interruption teams before enforcement, not after a funeral.
  • Hospital- and school-based interruption: the moment after an injury is the moment retaliation gets stopped.
  • Institutional harm is family violence with a badge on the door — care facilities, group homes, jails and hospitals get outside review, and residents get an advocate who does not work for the institution.
  • Custodial and state violence documented on the same record as any other harm. Power does not exempt anyone from the standard.
  • Weapons and lethality screened for at every intake, in every ring, every time.
  • Trafficking and exploitation treated as violence, not as a status offence against the person being sold.
  • Armed conflict: civilians, families and children first, in every corridor and every ceasefire. No exception for distance 💎.
  • Restoration over spectacle — accountability that changes behaviour, and support the harmed person actually asked for.

Same-day response, one advocate, one record, care offered to everyone involved, and the person causing harm is the one who moves. Whether it is a bedroom, a group home, a cell block or a border.

Believe first, verify anyway

Nobody has to perform their injuries to be taken seriously. The record still gets built carefully, dated and factual, because that is what protects them later.

Never a weapon

No order, removal, evaluation or report is pursued for leverage in a custody case, an immigration case, or a fight over money.

No private names

No private individual is named as an abuser on this site. Accounts go to counsel and lawful authorities. Institutions and public offices are named with dates and documents.

Harm is not a category of person

We name behaviour, never a type of human. Men are not the diagnosis and women are not the exception. The behaviour is the target.

Nothing in any ring costs anything. No income check, no waiting list, no proof of worthiness.
